Running a Bed & Breakfast

Everything you need know to start your own B & B.

Choosing the right Location for your B & B

Location Location Location.

With numerous television programs on the subject its importance cannot be stressed enough.

Keeping things simple you will probably choose between a bustling tourist centre, a quieter but popular destination, a city location or a quieter rural location.

The choice has to be yours dependent upon the type of trade you are looking to attract.

A busy tourist location will have a busy season but perhaps a quieter low season trade.

A location in a tourist city will attract tourists during season but will likely attract business visitors all year round.

Move into the country and you'll probably see a steady flow of walkers and similar holiday makers all year round.

It's impossible to tell you which is best as only you will know what you want to achieve for your business. Whichever you decide, just make sure you apply thorough research beforehand. Opening a bed and breakfast in the wrong location would be an expensive mistake.

Wherever you decide upon you need to remember that unless people can find you they will stop elsewhere. We cover the topic of marketing your business elsewhere.
